from Eldorado Scioto Downs

Columbus, OH — Eldorado Scioto Downs will have three guest announcers this weekend as regular track announcer Barry Vicroy takes a few nights off.

Northfield Park’s regular track announcer Ayers Ratliff will kick off on Thursday evening (Aug. 23). Ratliff returns to Scioto after not announcing at the South High oval for 11 years.

The United States Trotting Association’s social media and public relations coordinator Michael Carter will take the mic on Friday evening (Aug. 24). Carter will have the duty of announcing the fourth leg of the Ohio Sires Stakes for 3-year-old trotting colts and geldings. The Ohio Sires Stakes races are carded as the second and fourth races, each carrying a purse of $50,000.

On Saturday (Aug. 25), Scioto welcomes Hall of Famer Roger Huston. Huston has been traveling all over the country and abroad as of late, and will make a stop at Scioto Downs. Huston’s voice is no stranger to the Buckeye State, as he has announced at numerous venues in Ohio and is the voice of The Little Brown Jug.

Scioto Downs will kick off live racing at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
