Scuola Hanover captures $25,000 Mares Open at Dover

Dover, DE — Scuola Hanover made it four wins in a row as she captured the $25,000 Mares Open at Dover Downa on Wednesday night (Nov. 3).

Shes Pukka N and driver Anthony Morgan blasted off the wings of the starting gate and cut fractions of :26.3, :55.1 and 1:23.3. Sunny Dee and Allan Davis sat in the pocket. Scuola Hanover and Art Stafford Jr. grinded first over past the half. Soho Burning Love A shadowed that cover, following second over on the rim.

At the three-quarter pole the action picked up as Scuola Hanover drew within a neck of Shes Pukka N. the pacesetter. They paced the third quarter in :28.2. In the deep stretch Scuola Hanover overtook the leader and won by a neck in 1:51.2 and paid $6.20 to win. She paced her last quarter in :27.3. Shes Pukka N fought gallantly to finish second for trainer Brian Malone. Soho Burning Love A, the 8-5 race favorite, finished third for driver Tim Tetrick and trainer Jim King Jr.

Scuola Hanover (A Rocknroll Dance) is owned by Arthur C. Stafford, Andrew J. Stafford and Thomas L. Ireland. Andrew Stafford is the trainer.

Tim Tetrick won six races and Art Stafford Jr. won four races on the betting card.

Thursday night Dover Downs will host four Matron Stakes races for 2-year-olds. Post time is 4:30 p.m.
