Columbus, OH — The United States Trotting Association reminds its members that seven Association membership directors are scheduled to stand for re-election on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2025.
USTA members interested in running for a director’s seat may declare their candidacy by filing a written petition with the USTA. Each petition must be signed by at least 25 current members in good standing from the district the person seeks to represent and must be submitted no later than Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025.
Nomination petitions forwarded by mail shall be by registered mail (return receipt requested) and shall be considered filed by the postmark date. All others shall be considered filed at the time they are actually received at the USTA offices.
To be eligible, candidates must be individual members in good standing of the Association and, if elected, must maintain that membership throughout the three-year term of office.
The directors with expiring terms are:
• District 1 – Steve Bateson
• District 1 – Kevin Greenfield
• District 2 – Mike Sweeney
• District 5 – Sam Lilly
• District 5 – Jim Reynolds
• District 7 – Rich Gillock
• District 9 – Dr. Tim Powers
