She Is Strong wins the DSBF Late Closer Final

Dover, DE – She Is Strong was a convincing winner in the $50,950 DSBF “overnight” late closer for 3-year-old filly trotters at Bally’s Dover on Monday (March 27).

Miss Daburg was allowed to set fractions of :28 flat to the quarter :57.3 to the half and the three quarters in 1:27.2

The 2/5 betting favorite, She Is Strong and driver Tim Tetrick sat comfortable in third then brushed confidently past the three quarters and then extended her lead confidently in the stretch.

She went on to win by 9-1/2 lengths and set a lifetime mark of 1:56.4. She paid $2.80 to win. She Is Strong (Anders Bluestone) is owned by Jeffrey Clark of Centerville MD and is trained by Art Stafford Jr.

Lady Brass trotted late and finished secondnd for trainer Clifton Green and Russell Foster drove. Miss Dahburg finished third for trainer Traci Berry and Pat Berry drove.

On Tuesday (March 28), 3-year-old colt and gelding trotters compete in the $50,950 DSBF Late Closer Final. Also on the betting card is the $25,000 Open Trot featuring JL Cruze, who won last week.
