Monticello, NY – Yet another track record was established at Monticello Raceway in New York Sire Stakes action Monday afternoon (Aug. 4). Shes A Streaker erased the old mark of 1:52.3 for 3-year-old pacing fillies, set in 2012 by Romantic Moment, with a half-length win over 1-9 favorite The Last Martini in the final strides in 1:52.2.
The eight-horse field contest was worth $121,800. The 14-1 Fansville (Colin Kelly) set torrid fractions with the opening panel in :26.2 and half in :55.2. At this juncture, The Last Martini started her first-over trip followed by Shes A Streaker.

Passing the next station in 1:23.1, The Last Martini had collared Fansville in the paddock turn to grab the lead. She looked like a clear winner, but Shes A Streaker (Tyler Buter) exploded in the final strides to snatch the win away. Mrs Cheese (Matt Kakaley) got up for third. For Shes A Streaker (Huntsville-Mikayla Rose), the 9-1 second choice, it was her third NYSS win of the year for trainer Ron Burke.
Excelsior action saw Beantown Deuce (Huntsville-Dont Think Twice A), driven by Kakaley, enjoy a three-hole journey throughout the mile before ducking into the passing lane to get the win by a half-length over Martini Star (Jason Bartlett) in 1:54.4. She tied her lifetime record and set a seasonal mark for trainer George Ducharme and owner Michael Goldberg Racing LLC.
In the second division, Time To Strike (American Ideal-Striking Terror) thwarted Fashion Terror’s quest for four in a row, scoring easily in 1:54 with Kakaley in the bike for trainer Travis Alexander.
Dan Rawlings had a driving triple. Bruce Aldrich Jr. had a driving double on the overnight portion of the card that also saw Laura Aldrich bag a training double.
New York Sire Stakes action returns on Monday, Aug. 25. The last leg will be 2-year-old pacing fillies to close out the stakes season with a 12:10 p.m. (EDT) post time.
