Plainville, MA — Last week, class relief helped Sidd Finch trot off the screen by five lengths. Then, on Thursday afternoon (Aug. 1), despite climbing back up the ladder, Sidd Finch won again by more and faster as he captured the $20,000 featured trot at Plainridge Park.
Drew Campbell steered Sidd Finch to the top off the gate and had a two-length lead at the :27.4 quarter, and from there his lead only grew. Sidd Finch got to the half in :57.1 and three-quarters in 1:25.1 as he extended his advantage to four lengths. As the field tried to keep up as best they could, Sidd Finch rounded the last turn and trotted home alone to win by 5-3/4 lengths in 1:53.1, taking a new seasonal mark.
