from the Standardbred Owners Association of New York
Yonkers, NY — On Monday (August 15), the Standardbred Owners Association of New York passed a resolution donating $1,000 towards defraying the costs of Freehold track announcer Larry Lederman’s continuing quest to return to perfect health.
In making the donation, the SOA of NY and its horsemen recognized that Larry has and will continue to be a positive force in racing and acknowledges that he is one of our sport’s all-time great announcers.
While the SOA of NY realizes that Larry has spent much of his professional career on the “other” side of the Hudson, he has always helped out in New York, specifically at Yonkers Raceway, and anywhere else when called upon.
John Brennan and other SOA directors were so impressed by the help given him this past Saturday evening at the Meadowlands that a special meeting was called to lend a helping hand to a friend, separate and apart from that which was done at the Meadowlands.
The SOA of NY encourages horsemen and all others who are involved in our industry to help out this true and enduring friend of harness racing. Help out or not, how about sending a get well soon note to Larry Lederman at 69 Probasco Rd, East Windsor, NJ 08520. Bet he would love to hear from you as much as you want to continue to hear from him at Freehold Raceway!
