Dover, DE – Somebody Special delivered a second over journey and won the Select Trot at Bally’s Dover on Tuesday night (Dec. 30).

Fireworks started early when Plumville Prince and speed ball Last Glow battled one another approaching the quarter pole. Last Glow finally cleared the lead only after being parked out by Plumville Prince to an opening quarter trotted in :28.1.
Last Glow and Jack Parker Jr were able to back off the half in :57.3 with moderate :29.2 quarter second quarter.
Speed Away braved the gusty winds and freezing temperatures trotting first over up the backstretch with Somebody Special, the trotting mare racing against the boys, being towed into a perfect second over trip. Over And Back followed third over on the rim and Plumville Prince remained in the pocket.
Last Glow continued on the lead and reached the three quarters in 1:27.1.
Somebody Special, the 8-5 betting favorite, vacated her second over trip and circled three wide at the top of the lane when pacesetter Last Glow and a parked out Speed Away began to tire.
Somebody Special powered to a length and a quarter victory in 1:57. She paid $ 5.40 for the victory.
Somebody Special ( Swan For All ) is owned by Jaypaul R Hoover of Ephrata, PA. Chuck Crissman Jr trained and Tim Tetrick drove. Speed Away finished second and Last Glow was third.
Tim Tetrick captured a four bagger with four driving victories on the night..
Bally’s Dover will race on Wednesday, Dec. 31, New Year’s Eve night, as well as Thursday, Jan. 1, New Year’s night.
Wednesday night’s feature will be the fourth race Fillies and Mares Open Pace. Ballast and Huntress will do battle.
Bally’s Dover races Monday thru Thursday with a post time of 4:30 p.m.
