Sophomore colt pacers head to Northfield for Buckeye Stallion Series

Grove City, OH — Six divisions with a total of 49 sophomore colt pacers will take to the MGM Northfield Park track Saturday night (June 8) in search of a win in the second leg of the Buckeye Stallion Series. A total of $120,000 will be on the line with each division carrying a purse of $20,000.

Four of the divisions will feature winners from the first leg at Miami Valley Raceway on May 2.

In the first division, Attention Span will look for his second win in the Stallion Series. Brett Miller will drive the Downbytheseaside gelding for trainer Brady Galliers. Attention Span is owned by Galliers Racing and David Kryway.

In the fourth division, first leg winners Dancin Moon and Wirelesscaller will hook up. Jeremy Smith will drive Dancin Moon for trainer Herman Hagerman. The son of Dancin Yankee will be looking for his fourth win in eight 2024 starts. Wirelesscaller will be making his 14th start of the year for trainer William Miller II. Billy Davis Jr. will pilot the Bullville Powerful colt. Wirelesscaller has two wins this year.

What An Ocean View heads the field for the fifth division. The Ron Burke trainee has hit the board in six of eight starts, winning two. Chris Page will drive the Downbytheseaside gelding.

In the final division of the night, Jason Bartlett will drive Threemargaritashot for trainer Randy Smith. The son of Pet Rock has won two of five races this year.

First leg winner Rock The Hill is not entered in the second leg.

The six Buckeye Stallion Series races are part of the Battle of Lake Erie card at MGM Northfield Park. The card includes the Battle of Lake Erie, the MGM Buckeye Distaff, and the $100,000 Ohio Sires Stakes second leg for 3-year-old colt and gelding trotters. The first race post time for the 16-race card from MGM Northfield Park is 6 p.m.
