Lexington, KY — Southwind Lynx p,3,1:48.3 ($1,448,501) will stand at Walnut Hall Ltd. in Lexington, Kentucky, for a fee of $3,000, beginning with the forthcoming 2009 breeding season. The announcement was made by Alan J. Leavitt, president of Walnut Hall Ltd., which is owned by his wife, Meg Jewett.

Southwind Lynx is the fastest and richest son of Real Artist, by Artsplace, out of Luxury Class, by Jate Lobell. On the racetrack, Southwind Lynx won more than $1.4 million at two and three. He holds the distinction of being the only colt to win both the $1 million Meadowlands Pace Final and the $1 million Art Rooney Final at three.

His other stakes wins include the $92,500 International Stallion Stake at two and both the $134,265 James Dancer and the $121,000 Oliver Wendell Holmes at three.

His winning time in the Meadowlands Pace was 1:49.1, a mark he then lowered to 1:48.3 in the Oliver Wendell Holmes.

Southwind Lynx was developed and trained throughout his career by George Teague for owners K & R Racing LLC and Teague Inc.

Leavitt also stated that Southwind Lynx had passed his fertility test with flying colors, and booking inquiries should be directed to Steve Katz at Walnut Hall Ltd.
