Harrington, DE — Breakaway Racing and Yorwollohan Racing’s Speed Away ($4.60, Corey Callahan) was a 1:54.4 winner in Wednesday’s (May 1) $22,500 Open Trot at Harrington Raceway.

The Nick Callahan trainee settled in fourth early behind pacesetter That Ole Bar Stool before making a persistent backstretch grind to three-quarters, during which he steadily gained and eventually passed the leader in deep stretch. That Ole Bar Stool was second with Manatlas third.

It was the first win in five starts this year for the 6-year-old Father Patrick gelding.

It was one of two wins on the card for driver Callahan, who joined Russell Foster, Pat Berry and Allan Davis with a double.
