SRF’s raffle winner makes a special gesture of kindness

Cream Ridge, NJ — When the Standardbred Retirement Foundation called Michael Goldberg of Sarasota, Fla., the winner of our 2019 raffle, the amazement in his voice was clear and so great to hear. We love to make that call!

A long-time supporter of SRF, Goldberg is also a racehorse owner since 1992 and has horses today in training in New Jersey. He shared his feelings on the importance of SRF’s work several times on the phone. Thirty minutes later he called to say the Prix d’Amerique trip is his choice, and in his wonderful way of supporting these horses, he will be making a gift to SRF.

Goldberg certainly understands that these horses never stop serving, and giving back is so important. His support and generous gift is very much appreciated.

SRF is grateful to everyone who supported this important fundraiser. Tickets were still being sold up to the drawing time by telephone and email; it’s very popular, especially with the Disney options. Proceeds from this fundraiser assist in the cost of approximately $3,500 needed every day to feed and care for the horses under its expense.
