Stag Party dominates Preferred foes at Rosecroft

Ft. Washington, MD — We will find out just how good the first crop of Stag Party offspring are in a couple of months, but this is for certain, dad is doing just fine. Stag Party and Jonathan Ahle rolled to a convincing 5-1/4 length victory in the $17,000 Preferred Pace Thursday (March 30) at Rosecroft, pacing the mile in 1:50.3.

It was the third win of the year for Stag Party, who has been first or second in four of six Preferred starts at this meet. The 7-year-old is owned by Let It Ride Stables, Hutt Racing Stable, West Wins Stable and Bottom Line Racing.

It was the third of four wins on the night for trainer Michael Hall, and third win for Ahle in the bike.

Jason Thompson took the $15,000 Open I Pace finale with Summer Trader for Hall and Manklin Creek, edging stablemate It’s Above Me now.

Two more for the under 21 club Thursday night as 20-year-old Cole Olsen won with One Of The Guys and 18-year-old William Carter won a thrilling finish where seven horses hit the wire within three lengths of each other and he and Docdor Mickey took the win at 27-1.
