Star Rose reigns supreme in Maryland Sire Stakes

Berlin, MD—The rivalry between Star Rose (You Betcha) and Rock The Game continues in their second season, with Star Rose victorious in this week’s Maryland Sires Stakes action in 2:01.1.

The result of the final next week is anyone’s guess. Ray Robinson Jr. drove the winner for lessee T & J Stables LLC. and trainer Timothy Martin.

Speed It (Cam’s Rocket) is the one to beat in the trotting colts/geldings division by winning his second preliminary round in 2:03.4 for reinsman Jim Morand.

Richard Hans is the owner/breeder/trainer of the horse. Righteous Renegade was up for second.

Fastestgirlaround (Dontloseyourdayjob) stopped the timer in 1:59 for the second consecutive week over Evergreen Silky in the pacing filly division. Gloria Kinnamon co-owns with trainer Brian Callahan and Frank Milby was in the bike.

The pacing colt/geldings finished the preliminary rounds with Steal N Go (Bonnie And Clyde) winning out his events. Jeff Fout drives and trains the gelding for owner/breeder Winbak Farms. Toms Tae Kwon Do finished second in the 2:01.3 mile.

Maryland Sire Stakes action continues on Sunday (July 24) with the 2-year-old finals in the first series.
