Nichols, NY — Stewardoftheland (Jim Taggart Jr.) captured the $11,500 featured pace on Sunday (July 30) at Tioga Downs.

Whichwaytothebeach (Aaron Byron) was first to the quarter in :26.4 as Stewardoftheland ($7.80) followed in the pocket. Whichwaytothebeach used a :28.3 second quarter to be first to the half in :55.2. He continued to be in charge and led to three-quarters in 1:22.4.

As they made the turn for home Stewardoftheland popped the pocket as Comet Crusader N (Ridge Warren) came three-wide. Stewardoftheland brushed right on by to win easily in 1:50.4. Comet Crusader N was second. Whichwaytothebeach had to settle for third.

Stewardoftheland is a 4-year-old gelding by Huntsville. He is owned and trained by Dave Koslowsky. He won for the fourth time in a row. It was his seventh win of the season and his 11th career victory.

Ridge Warren, Marcus Miller, Mike Merton, and Aaron Byron all had driving doubles. Rob Harmon had a training double.
