Strong opening day for French yearling sale

The selected Arqana Trot sale in Deauville opened Wednesday (Aug. 30) on a strong note as the average price rocketed up 44 percent compared to the same day last year.

A total of 92 yearlings were sold for an average of 66,848 Euro and the median price was 47,500 Euro. Twenty yearlings were sold for 100,000 Euro or more.

The sales topper was a colt, Meursault sired by Ready Cash, who sold for 250,000 Euro to trainer Phillipe Allaire.

Allaire was also the buyer of the second highest yearling, a filly sired by Face Time Bourbon, priced at 240,000 Euro.

It was Ready Cash and son, whose yearlings dominated the sale. Nine yearlings sired by Ready Cash sold for an average of 131,444 Euro. Sixteen yearlings sired by Face Time Bourbon (sired by Ready Cash) sold for an average of 131,444 Euro.

An Italian yearling sired by Tactical Landing and out of a mare by Donato Hanover was sold at the sale for 155,000 Euro.

The Arqana Trot sale continues today and concludes Friday.
