Northville, MI — Swan Leader won the Friday (Sept. 16) Northville feature.

Swan Leader (Swan For All-Lasting Beauty) and driver/trainer Charles Taylor left off the gate from post position three in the night’s $7,800 featured trot but was overpowered by R Speed Of Light and driver Kody Massey who took over the lead to the quarter pole in :29, seating Swan Leader in the pocket.

Then driver Marc St. Louis Jr and Cruzen Cassi charged up on the outside going to the half and pressed the leader to a half in :58.4 and three-quarters in 1:28.1 until fading in the stretch. That allowed pocket sitter Swan Leader to pop out late to pass R Speed Of Light to get up in time for the victory in a final clocking of 1:58.4.

It marked the 55th career victory for Swan Leader who is owned by the partnership of Charles Taylor and Vivian Booher. Swan Leader has now registered lifetime earnings of $406,593.

Northville Downs’ live racing resumes Saturday (Sept. 17) at 7:30 p.m.
