Harrington, DE – Bobby Glassmeyer’s Sweet Angel Boy ($9, Ross Wolfenden) was a 1:52.1 repeat winner in the $18,000 Open Pace Monday (Sept. 15) at Harrington Raceway.
Captaincountrystar took the early lead before yielding to Sweet Angel Boy to an opening quarter mile in :27.1 seconds. The field of seven marched to the half-mile win {57 seconds with Steven Saloon and Joker On Jack on the outside to three-quarters in 1:24.4.
Sweet Angel Boy stayed on top in the stretch and achieved his second straight win over a fast-closing Steven’s Saloon, last week’s winner, and Captaincountrystar. It was the fourth win of the year for Sweet Angel Boy, a 7-year-old Sweet Lou gelding who is trained by his owner.
Jason Thompson, Bart Dalious and Allan Davis each had driving doubles.
