In Tuesday’s (Aug. 11) sixth race at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania, a trotter named Bijou Blue Chip made her career debut from post 8, and she was dismissed at 92-1, the longest odds in the race. Bijou Blue Chip was in the second half of her field most of the race but mounted a winning rally in her bow to return a $186.40 win payoff, the highest recorded at Pocono in nearly five years.

Hambletonian eligibles set to clash in Zweig
The road to next month’s Hambletonian and Hambletonian Oaks passes through Vernon Downs this Sunday (July 19) when the upstate New York oval hosts Grade 2 Dr. Harry M. Zweig Memorial races for 3-year-old male and female trotters.
Stoebe hopes for more big things from Mega Shark
Annie Stoebe came into this year enthusiastically looking forward to racing an established star among older trotters, the 5-year-old mare Elista Hanover, and a highly regarded Hambletonian Stakes contender, 3-year-old colt trotter Diabolic Hill. Both of those horses will be in action on Saturday (May 23) at the Meadowlands, but since last week the trainer has found another reason for excitement this season.
