Maryland Sire Stakes spring champions Tony Babe and Geralds A Keeper both found their way back to the Ocean Downs winner’s circle in Sunday’s (July 14) $10,000 second-round splits of the Maryland Sire Stakes for 3-year-old colds and geldings — the former after tasting defeat in round one; the latter on the strength of a building win streak.

Mac’s Delight overcame a 22-day layoff, the outside post in the field of six, and having to come his last half in :53.2 uncovered, but he checked all those boxes in winning the $15,000 fast-class pacing feature in 1:49 Sunday (July 14) afternoon at Harrah’s Philadelphia.

Phillipe Allaire-trained Hohneck (sired by Royal Dream) with Gabriele Gelormini won the Prix de Washington at Enghien, Paris- France in convincing style in 1.51.3.
