The Wisconsin Harness Horse Association is proud to announce its first Hall of Fame inductee for the Class of 2023. Joining the Immortals of Wisconsin will be Harry Ivey, a lifelong resident of Mineral Point, Wis. He will be inducted at the January 27th event in Madison

For the first time in nearly 30 years, Ohio’s reigning Horse of the Year has won the honor in back-to-back years. Bythemissal, Ohio’s 3-Year-Old Pacing Colt of the Year, has been named the 2023 Ohio Horse of the Year.

After winning two of three starts at Yonkers Raceway, Tony’s Mom shipped to The Meadowlands on Dec. 23 and was a good-looking, fast-closing second-place finisher in the feature coming from sixth with a quarter-mile to go.

Mike Polansky pointed My Big Kadillac to the lead and stayed firm on the helm to the winning post in the $9,000 American Harness Drivers Club Trot at Freehold Raceway on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 13).

Johnathan Ahle and Austin Siegelman left little opportunity for any other driver to score on the 12-race card at Freehold Raceway on Saturday (Jan. 13). Between the two of them, they won nine races. Ahle had five wins, including the feature, and Siegelman was right behind him with four wins.

Members from the United States Trotting Association District 1 met on Saturday (Jan. 13) at the Marriott Columbus OSU hotel in Columbus, Ohio, to discuss proposed USTA rule changes and to make recommendations that will be conveyed at the USTA’s annual board of directors meeting, which will be held in March.

The 5-year-old Jushua Tree, trained and driven by Jean Michel Bazire, is the next French superstar.
