Aaron Hall’s star shone brightest of all under the sparkling lights at Skowhegan State Fair on Tuesday (Aug. 15) as the talented teamster dazzled the fans with a three win performance during Maine’s first evening card of the 2023 harness racing season.

The Tuesday (Aug. 15) program at Running Aces featured two divisions of the Minnesota-sired freshman trot and the offspring of the late Banker Volo posted sharp performances to keep his legacy going strong.

Marc Tardif’s Luke McGook continued to display his dominance in the Maine Sire Stakes, winning Tuesday’s (Aug. 15) $14,917 division for 3-year-old colt and gelding pace at the Skowhegan State Fair. It was the seventh consecutive victory for the Leighton Property-owned son of Rock N’ Roll World, who also took a new seasonal mark of 1:56.1 in the wire-to-wire triumph.

Freshman filly pacers were in action Tuesday (Aug. 15) at Eldorado Scioto Downs for four $20,000 divisions of the Buckeye Stallion Series. Kayne Kauffman drove Illegal to her third win in the Buckeye Stallion Series as he won two of the four races.

Climb The Pole won the seventh race Tuesday night (Aug. 15) at Woodbine Mohawk Park, a C$159,000 Ontario Sires Stakes Gold division for 3-year-old trotting fillies, and rewarded her backers with a 24-1 price.

Heavy favorites Gigi Hanover and Instagram Model delivered as expected in the two $85,500 New York Sire Stakes divisions for 3-year-old trotting fillies that occurred on Tuesday evening (Aug. 15) at MGM Yonkers Raceway.

J&T Davis’ Secret Jet ($78.20) was an upset winner in the $20,000 Open Trot on Tuesday (Aug. 15) at Harrington Raceway with a 1:57.3 triumph.

Hambletonian winner Tactical Approach made his return to the Bluegrass State a triumphant one with a 1:51.3 win in the $80,000 second round of the Kentucky Championship Series for 3-year-old male trotters on Tuesday (Aug. 15) at the Red Mile. Better Is Nice collected his third straight win and stamped himself as one to watch in the 2-year-old male pacing division with a 1:53 score.
