After suffering interference last week, Pamela Wagner’s homebred K J Todd came roaring back to the Ocean Downs winner’s enclosure with a last-to-first 1:56.2 win in Wednesday’s (June 12) $10,000 Open Handicap Trot, his second such win in three tries at the current Ocean meet.

The second leg of the Buckeye Stallion Series for 3-year-old trotting fillies, held Wednesday (June 12) at MGM Northfield Park, saw only one repeat winner as Esteso rallied down the stretch to win one of the three $20,000 divisions.

First-leg Delaware Standardbred Breeders’ Fund (DSBF) action for 3-year-olds wrapped up Wednesday (June 12) at Harrington Raceway with six $20,000 divisions for trotters.

There wasn’t any negotiating with Peace Talks ($5.50) in the $117,700 New York Sire Stakes for 3-year-old filly pacers on Wednesday afternoon (June 12) at Buffalo Raceway. The reigning 2-year-old champion kept a tight hold of her crown and silenced her rivals with a 1-1/2-length victory over Leanne’s Choice in 1:54.4.

The wait continues as the top two Ohio sophomore filly trotters find themselves in different divisions for leg two of the Ohio Sires Stakes on Friday (June 14) at Eldorado Scioto Downs.
