Driving hat tricks registered by Drew Monti and Kyle Cummings comprised six of the 12 wins charted on Tuesday (Jan. 20) at Batavia Downs, and two of those winners returned rather handsome mutuels.
Monti grand slams at Batavia, reaches 2,500 wins
When Drew Monti won the first race at Batavia Downs on Friday (Oct. 4) night with Heavens Fury (2:00.4, $5.10), he reached a major milestone by registering the 2,500th win of his career, and he did it on his 30th birthday. The win was only the first of four that Monti had during the evening, putting an exclamation mark on his accomplishment. He also won with Hudsonandbernard (1:57.2, $9.90), I’m Already Gone (1:56.4, $6.10) and Seasiderocket (1:58.4, $7.20).
