The Sweet Lou-Warrawee Winx filly Topville Lucky added another win to her nearly perfect record with a 1:50.4 performance to take the second of three divisions of the $246,000 Bluegrass 2-Year-Old Filly Pace – a division sponsored by the Beach Glass Syndicate and Winbak Farm – on Thursday (Sept. 25) at the Red Mile.
Boots N Beer leads upset parade in Golden Rod finals
On Tuesday (Sept. 16), the Red Mile hosted eight $50,000 Kentucky Golden Rod Series finals. The red clay oval was not kind to the public’s top selections as only two managed to make it to the winner’s circle. It was, however, a great day for the wagering public, led by 72-1 long shot Boots N Beer.
Dancin Champion, Bath Bomb headline Kentucky Sire Stakes
On Monday (Sept. 8), the 14-race card at the Red Mile shifts the spotlight to older horses as two $35,000 third-round legs of the Kentucky Sire Stakes for older pacers are feature events of the day. Sippinonsearoc, who last year became the sport’s swiftest 2-year-old, demonstrated his affinity for the Bluegrass with a facile 1:48.2 score in the $80,000 fourth-round leg of the Kentucky Championship Series for sophomore male pacers on Tuesday (Sept. 2) at the Red Mile for his fourth consecutive triumph.
