The Red Mile Announces Date Change for The Kentucky Futurity and Grand Circuit Racing Schedule for 2026
The Red Mile has announced proposed adjustments to its 2026 Grand Circuit racing schedule, highlighted by a move of the historic Kentucky Futurity from Sunday, October 11 to Saturday, October 3, pending approval by the Kentucky Horse Racing and Gaming Corporation at its July meeting. Additionally, the second week of the Grand Circuit meet would transition from its previously scheduled dates of Friday, October 9, Saturday, October 10, and Sunday, October 11 to Thursday, October 8, Friday, October 9, and Saturday, October 10.
Kentucky to offer 85 harness dates in 2026
The Kentucky Standardbred racing season in 2026 will begin March 23 at Oak Grove Racing & Gaming and conclude Nov. 12 at Cumberland Run, based on a dates schedule published by the Kentucky Horse Racing & Gaming Corporation.

On Tuesday (Sept. 16), the Red Mile hosted eight $50,000 Kentucky Golden Rod Series finals. The red clay oval was not kind to the public’s top selections as only two managed to make it to the winner’s circle. It was, however, a great day for the wagering public, led by 72-1 long shot Boots N Beer.
