The United States Harness Writers Association (USHWA) is pleased to announce the election of Al Libfeld, Åke Svanstedt and Russell Williams to the greatest honor in the industry, membership in the Harness Racing Hall of Fame.
USHWA has also elected the late Barry Lefkowitz and Kim Rinker to the pinnacle of their profession, membership in the Communicators Hall of Fame.

Dave Briggs to USHWA HOF Screening Committee
Dave Briggs, a member of the harness racing Communicators Hall of Fame as selected by the U.S. Harness Writers Association and also voted into the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame, has been appointed to a four-year term on USHWA’s Hall of Fame Screening Committee.
Nominations open for Fair Island Farm Caretaker of Year
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2025 Caretaker of the Year. The award, sponsored by Art Zubrod and Leah Cheverie’s Fair Island Farm in conjunction with the United States Harness Writers Association (USHWA), recognizes the unsung heroes of the sport: The caretakers who maintain the health and welfare of the horses on a daily basis.
