Malmo, SE — The Svensk Uppfödningslöppning—a race for 2-year-olds first run in 1926—concludes the classic season in Sweden every year.
On Saturday afternoon, the 2026 edition of the race was held at Jägersro in Malmö, with a field of 12 horses at the start. The first prize was 1.2 million SEK, or $125,000.
From the inside post position 1, Tanja Tooma, trained by Fredrik B. Larsson and driven by Magnus A. Djuse, took the lead right from the start and the filly stayed in front all the way to the finish line.
Tanja Tooma (sired by Explosive Matter) won confidently in 1:59.3f, followed by Neutron Star (sired by Gimpanzee) with Claes Sjöström, and Reagan Boko (sired by Chelsea Boko) with Robin Bakker.
It was the fourth win in seven starts for Tanja Tooma, whose dam, Collect Tomma, is sired by Wall Street Banker.
On the same card, the very popular aged trotter A Fair Day (sired by Maharajah) with Oscar Ginman won comfortably in the Gold Division over 1-5/16 miles in 1:55.3f (mile rate).
