Taser Gun Pace, Brown County (IL) Fair on the horizon

by Josh Potts, for the Brown County Fair

Mount Sterling, IL — Live harness racing action returns to the Brown County Fair on July 29 and 30 in Mount Sterling, Ill. First race post time for both nights of racing is 7 p.m. (CDT).

To enter, please contact Tina Schrock at 217.416.0006 or 217.697.8315. For Monday’s card, the entry box closes on Friday at 10 a.m. (CDT). For Tuesday’s card, the box closes on Saturday at 10 a.m. (CDT).

The highlight of the meet will once again be Tuesday (July 30) night’s $18,000 guaranteed ($20,000 estimated) Taser Gun Pace for Illinois conceived and foaled pacers aged four-and-up. Once again, the Taser Gun is the richest and most anticipated race on the Illinois county fair racing circuit.

The Brown County Fair pays 100 percent of the purses on the night of racing for both overnight and stakes races. No overnight race will be contested for less than $1,000, even if a race is broken into divisions.

Also, the Brown County Fair is once again the only county fair in Illinois to offer the public pari-mutuel wagering on harness racing.

See you next week at the Brown County Fair!
