Anderson, IN – When racing returned for the kickoff of the 2026 meet at Harrah’s Hoosier Park on Thursday (Feb. 12), it was only fitting that the track’s all-time leading driver and winner of the last 12 driving titles, Trace Tetrick, led the way on the evening with a trio of driving victories on the 14-race program.
The first two wins of the season for Tetrick came driving for his brother, T, in back-to-back races in the middle of the card. Dejoma ($5 to win) proved tough on the front end in a $10,000 conditioned trot in a career best 1:57.4, outdueling a live upset threat in 36-1 shot Lous Transportor (Marcus Miller), who came up a quarter-length short. The brothers Tetrick came right back in the following race, using the same front-end tactics with Ilike Whiskers ($3.20), who dominated by 4-3/4 lengths in 1:56.3 over Artistic Photo (John De Long).
Tetrick tacked on his third winner on the evening with the Charlie Stewart-trained Chedda Chedda ($5.60), who went first-over en route to a 1:54 victory by three-parts of a length over a hard-charging Galleys Image (Patrizio Ancora). The win was one of two on the evening for the Stewart barn, having delivered the biggest upset on the program in race two when Imalwaysclassy (John DeLong, 1:54.4) rallied at 41-1 to light up the tote board, paying $84.80 to win. Stewart led all trainers on the evening with his two victories.
Racing continues at Harrah’s Hoosier Park on Friday (Feb. 13) with a nine-race program that begins at 5:30 p.m. (EST). The Friday night program features a $10,000 guarantee in the Late Hoosier High-5 done in partnership with the USTA’s Strategic Wagering Program in the race nine finale. Live racing will be followed by an Aaron Lewis concert in the Terrace Showroom beginning at 9 p.m.
Harrah’s Hoosier Park continues on a Thursday and Friday racing schedule through March before adding Wednesdays to the weekly schedule beginning in April. First post is 5:30 p.m. nightly.
