Greenville, OH – Harness racing returns to the Great Darke County Fair in Greenville, Ohio for the annual meet beginning on Frida, August 18th with a post time of 6:30 p.m., Sunday, August 20th,post time 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 23rd post time 7:45 p.m. and we conclude on Thursday, August 24th post time 6:30 p.m.
Friday night will feature four splits of the Ohio Colt Racing Association and the Terry Thomas Signature Series Trot.
Sunday night will feature four splits of the Ohio Colt Racing Association and the Rhys Bowman Signature Series Pace.
Sunday night will also be Fan Appreciate Night for fair goers. We will be honoring Doug Ballinger’s 50th year of calling the races. Each fan in attendance who purchases a program will get a Doug Ballinger baseball card. Everyone will receive a chance to win a 50” TV given away after each race as well as a chance to win a raffle ticket for the Gator the fair is holding a raffle for, and large gift bags provided by BSG. More information on this exciting evening will be coming soon.
Wednesday will feature an all overnight card with a tentative post time of 7:45p.m. We will start as soon as we can after the Veteran’s Services.
Thursday night will be the night of nights for Ohio fairs again featuring the Gene Riegle Memorial Pace, and the Arnie Almahurst Trot. We will also have all the splits of the Parshall Memorial Stakes and the Annie Oakley Shoot Out. As in the past, with each paid program, you will receive the next Riegle Memorial series glass that shows all the winners. This year’s glass will be a draft style glass in the famous Riegle chartreuse. Thursday night will also feature the Greenville Municipal Concert Band.
