Nichols, NY – The Stunning Nun N (Tyler Miller) captured the $9,000 fillies & mares’ pace at Tioga Downs on Friday (May 24).

The Stunning Nun N ($20.60) went straight for the lead and led to the quarter in :28.1. She slowed things down and used a :30.3 second quarter to be first to the half in :58.4. As they reached the backstretch Arnie’s Angel (Ridge Warren) came first-up to challenge. The Stunning Nun N reached three-quarters first in 1:27.0.

As they made the turn for home The Stunning Nun N shook off Arnie’s Angel. Second place finisher Huntressville A (Mike Merton) became the major danger as she came flying home. The Stunning Nun N dug in and held on to win in 1:56.0. Won Surreal Deal (Barton Dalious) finished third.

The Stunning Nun N is a 9-year-old mare by Bettor’s Delight. She is owned by J Warner, J Manning, B Jensen, and trainer Mike Deters. It was her second win this season. She now has 26 career wins.

Aaron Byron drove three winners on the card. Mike Merton and Tyler Miller had driving doubles.
