Columbus, OH — The Cleveland Plain Dealer has reported that Brent Reitz, the general manager of Thistledown, the Thoroughbred track in Cleveland, has accepted the same position at Northfield Park.

The graduate of Bowling Green State University worked for the Cleveland Cavaliers for eight years before his 20-year stint with Thistledown.

“I’m fortunate to be able to continue working in the horse racing industry and not have to move from my hometown,” Reitz told the Plain Dealer.

He will begin his new job at Northfield on Feb. 7.
