Topsham, ME – Harness racing makes a triumphant return to Maine’s mid-coast area on Sunday (Aug. 3) when the 171st edition of the Topsham Fair kicks off its five day race-meet with a stellar 10-race card scheduled to get underway at 4 pm (EDT).

Admission on Sunday is free.
The conclusion of the extended summer meets at Bangor Raceway and First Tracks Cumberland heralds the gathering of Maine’s top horses, trainers, and drivers along the legendary Pine Tree State fairground circuit. The circuit, which began on July 24 at the Bangor State Fair, will run throughout the late summer season, culminating in the Fryeburg Fair’s autumn coda traditionally held during peak leaf peeping season spanning the first week of October.
Over $40,000 in purse money will be on the line during Topsham’s opening day performance on Sunday, which will be followed by cards on Monday (Aug. 4) at 4 p.m. (free admission), Wednesday (Aug. 6) at 1 p.m. ($5 senior citizen admission), Thursday (Aug. 7) at 3 p.m. and Saturday (Aug. 9) at 1 p.m.
For those not able to come to the track, wagering on the Topsham Fair, as well as hundreds of harness and Thoroughbred racetracks across the world, will be available on Hollywood Races at www.hollywoodraces.com as well as at all state of Maine off-track betting parlors.
