Trouble is a repeat winner in Singer Series at Meadowlands

East Rutherford, NJ — Trouble was a repeat winner in his $12,500 second leg division of the Charles Singer Memorial Trotting Series for 3-year-olds on Thursday night (Feb. 23) at Meadowlands Racetrack.

Trouble, a son of Conway Hall-Anna Karin’s Girl, owned by Andy Miller Stable Inc. and George Brennan Inc., rallied in the stretch to defeat Connie Lauxmont by a nose in a personal mark of 1:57.1. Connie Lauxmont was the other winner in last week’s opening leg of the Singer Series. Racintowardadream was a head back in third.

Trained by Julie Miller and driven by Andy Miller, Trouble ($4.40) scored for the second time in six lifetime starts and lifted his career bankroll to $16,110. He was purchased by his current connections last fall at the Harrisburg Mixed Sale for $29,000 after selling as a yearling for $65,000 in 2010.

Robert Key’s Man’s Treasure was a wire-to-wire winner in the other Singer Series spilt, scoring in a lifetime best 1:58.1. Tim Tetrick was in the bike for trainer Don Niccum as the son of SJ’s Caviar-America’s Treasure won going away by 2-3/4 lengths over Automatic, with Anddiditmyway finishing third.

The victory was the third in six career starts for Man’s Treasure, who has now banked $17,225 lifetime.
