Tuesday Bedford racing rained out

by Jerry Connors, for the PA Harness Racing Commission

Bedford, PA — Alas, Bedford’s 2013 return to the Pennsylvania fair circuit after 23 years away will consist of only one day of racing.

It had started to rain at the tail end of Monday’s action, and persistent overnight precipitation on the clay oval has forced the scrapping of the Tuesday card, scheduled for Pennsylvania Fair Sire Stakes 2-year-olds.

The next stop on the Keystone fair schedule is at Clearfield for four days of racing at 12 noon starting next Monday (July 29).

Horsemen should note that there will be, as customary, two double draws closing at 12 noon each day for the four cards — Monday and Tuesday’s races will be drawn on Saturday (July 27), while the Wednesday and Thursday action will find the box close on Sunday (July 28). Entries should be phoned in to 814.768.7568.
