East Rutherford, NJ – A $40,802 carryover led to strong play, which led to a big payout in the $1 PK8 Friday night (Feb. 13) at The Meadowlands.
The carryover motivated bettors to contribute $14,604 in “new money” to the wagering pool, bringing the total to $55,288. After a sequence saw winner’s odds of 10-1, 2-1, 4-5, 1-2, 2-1, 5-2, 1-5, and 9-2, two tickets cashed for $26,543.90.
One of the winning tickets was hit onsite at the Meadowlands, while the second was through the Portland Hub.
The $1 PK8 will resume Saturday (Feb. 14) with $50,000 in seeded money from wager sponsor Peter Kleinhans serving as the fuel to entice players.
PK8 Details:
- $1 minimum bet
- Wager spans races 3-10
- If a player picks all eight winners and possesses the only ticket, they take the entire pool. If there are multiple winners, the pool will be split among those with eight correct
- When the bet is not hit, 25 percent of the new money in the pool will be paid out to those with the most winners, with 75 percent of the pool carrying over
- There is no mandatory payout date for the PK8.
