Tyler Smith wins three Buckeye Stallion Series races

Grove City, OH — Tyler Smith was a three-time winner in the Buckeye Stallion Series during day two of racing on Monday (Sept. 20) at the Delaware County Fairgrounds.

Smith guided 2-year-old filly pacer Bittrsweetsymphony and 3-year-old colt pacers King’s Cruiser and Walknafter Midnite to wins.

Bittrsweetsymphony (Well Said) picked up her third win in the series going gate-to-wire for Smith and trainer Crist Hershberger.

Fantasy Life (Downbytheseaside) also won for the third time in the series as Chris Page took the lead at the half-mile mark to win by 2-1/4 lengths for trainer Ron Burke.

Bowery (Downbytheseaside) collected her second BSS win as Mitchell Cushing rallied her down the stretch to win by a length for trainer Virgil Morgan Jr.

Page and Burke picked up their second Buckeye Stallion Series winner on the day as Twenty (Well Said) rallied down the stretch for the win.

In the 3-year-old colt pace, Smith drove King’s Cruiser (Yankee Cruiser) to his third win in the Buckeye Stallion Series for trainer Jeff Nisonger. King’s Cruiser went gate-to-wire to win for the 12th time this year.

Smith also guided Walknafter Midnite (Racing Hill) to his second BSS win. Walknafter Midnite grabbed the lead after the halfway mark and pulled away to win by 1-3/4 lengths as Smith won for his father, trainer Jeff Smith.

Odds On Pick Six (Racing Hill) was also a winner for the second time in BSS. Ronnie Wrenn Jr. went gate-to-wire for trainer Melanie Wrenn.

Mike Micallef drove Hardt At Work to his first Stallion Series win. Micallef also trains the son of Manhardt.

Buckeye Stallion Series action continues Tuesday (Sept. 21) at the Delaware County Fairgrounds with three divisions of the 2-year-old filly trot.
