Edgerton, OH — The second leg of the 2016 Ohio Ladies Pace Series was contested at the Putnam County Fair in Ottawa during Tuesday (June 21) night’s program.

Ulrika Fox of Pendleton, Ind., brought her own 10-year-old gelding King Me (Dontgetinmyway-Lake Hills Melody) into the winner’s circle after a mile in 2:02.4. Emily Hay steered Royal Delta to a second-place finish with Mary Birkhold getting up for third with Gramma’s Guy in the five-horse field.

The Ohio Ladies Pace Series is for female drivers only who are driving horses that are non-winners of $16,000 in 2016 or entered to be claimed for $5,000. The drivers earn points with the top nine point-earners competing in a championship race at the Delaware County Fair in Delaware during Grand Circuit week in September.

There are 25 more fairs participating before the Delaware final. The next leg will be at the Madison County Fair in London on Saturday (July 9).

Tabatha Canarr leads in points after two legs with 60 points. She is followed by Ulrika Fox with 51 points, Mary Birkhold with 39, Emily Hay with 35, Olivia Turner with 13, and last year’s leading point-winner Mandy Jones with 12.
