Columbus, OH — Exclusive helmetcam and sulkycam footage of both jockey Chantal Sutherland-Kruse’s Racing Under Saddle record and driver Dave Palone’s 16,000th career win at The Meadows earlier this week are now available for viewing.
For both events, the USTA Communications staff worked with Kenleigh Hobby and Tony Grega from Equisight Inc. to shoot and edit these videos.
On Monday (Sept. 23), Thoroughbred jockey Sutherland-Kruse, the only female rider ever to win the Santa Anita Handicap and Hollywood Gold Cup, established a new North American record of 1:59 on a five-eighths-mile track with the assistance of Palone driving a prompter. Watch the video from their point of view as it happened here.
After winning five races to move his career win total to 15,999 the day of the Sutherland-Kruse record, Palone returned to the Meadows for number 16,000 in the second race on Tuesday (Sept. 24). Ride the race with Palone through the view from cameras on his helmet and race bike here.
