Unefoisdansmavie equals track record at The Meadows

by Evan Pattak for The Meadows

Washington, PA — Unefoisdansmavie toyed with a distinguished field when she blazed to victory in 1:53.1, matching the track record for older mares, in Saturday’s $18,000 Filly & Mare Preferred Trot at The Meadows.

Dave Palone was able to give Unefoisdansmavie a 29.4 second-quarter breather on the lead. That was all she needed to down Paulette Revere by 3-1/4 lengths, with Trotslikethewind third. The time equaled the mark established last year by Mystical Starlight. Ron Burke trains the 6-year-old daughter of Revenue S-Peace To The World, who now has banked $279,357, for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Jack Piatt III.

In Saturday’s companion feature, the $18,000 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Pace, Do Me Honor avenged last week’s defeat by Magic Starlight by blowing by her in the Lightning Lane and scoring in a career-best 1:51.2 for Aaron Merriman and owner/trainer Bill Bercury. Dream Of Winning also shot the Lightning Lane for second, 3/4 lengths back, while Magic Starlight saved show.

It was the 10th win in 17 starts this year for the 5-year-old daughter of Cheyenne Rei-Do Me Right, who now boasts $344,218 in lifetime earnings.

Merriman, Palone and Eric Ledford each drove three winners on the 12-race card.
