Campbellville, ON — In less than a week’s time, harness racing will return to Woodbine Racetrack on October 3, prompting changes in Mohawk’s qualifying schedule.

Qualifiers will remain two days per week until the final week of October, with the exception of Thanksgiving Monday, as there will be no qualifiers on October 10. Please note that there will also be a change from Fridays to Thursdays starting on October 13.

Effective October 27, qualifiers will be held one day a week on Thursday mornings during the winter. Should inclement weather or unsafe track conditions arise, qualifiers would then be moved to Friday morning.

Below is the qualifying schedule for the end of the Mohawk meet and the start of the Woodbine meet:

Friday, September 30
Monday, October 3
Friday, October 7
Thursday, October 13
Monday, October 17
Thursday, October 20
Thursday, October 27

All qualifiers are held at 10 a.m. at the Campbellville oval.

Deadline looming for Woodbine Autumn Stakes

Woodbine Entertainment Group has issued a reminder to all owners and trainers that nominations will close on November 1 for the 2011 Woodbine Autumn Stakes. There are six stakes in total with the 2-year-olds going for guaranteed final purses of C$50,000, while the 3-year-old purses for the finals will be a guaranteed C$60,000. Each event will be raced as an elimination and final.

Envelopes must be clearly postmarked no later than the said due date. Registered mail is recommended.
