East Rutherford, NJ – Live harness racing returns to the Meadowlands this Saturday, Oct, 18, and runs through Saturday, Dec. 27, with a 6:20 p.m. post time.
The fun kicks off this Saturday, Oct. 18, with the track’s first-ever Corgi Cup. This family-friendly event features Corgis racing at the track between live harness racing. It’s a night of fun, laughs, music, doggies, and horse racing. Eighty doggy contestants will compete in eight heats that begin at 6 p.m. with the Corgi Cup Final on the track at 9:25 p.m.
Each heat features 10 dogs racing, or frolicking, to the finish line. The eight heat winners move on to the final, which takes place on the actual racetrack. Backyard doors open at 5 p.m. and the first horse race is at 6:20 p.m. Don’t miss this unique and adorable event.
Big simulcasting weekends hit back-to-back with the Breeders’ Crown Finals from Woodbine Mohawk Park on Friday and Saturday (Oct. 24 and 25), and the Breeders’ Cup Thoroughbred Championships from Del Mar on Friday and Saturday (Oct. 31 and Nov. 1).

Saturday, Oct. 25, is also the date of the track’s monthly handicapping contest. There is no entry fee (a $100 live money bankroll is required) for players, and the prize pool, guaranteed at $1,000 and funded by the Meadowlands Racetrack, will be paid out to the top four finishers. The top two finishers will be eligible to play in the $10,000 tournament on Dec. 13 (20 total players).
On Saturday, Nov. 1, this year’s freshman trotters and pacers take center stage in the Kindergarten Finals sponsored by Crawford Farms.
