Grove City, OH — The USTA and the OHHA hosted a continuing education program at Hollywood Dayton Raceway on Nov. 6.

The meeting was very well attended by Ohio fair officials as well as pari-mutuel officials from Ohio and Indiana. Chris Dragone and Susan Mullet from the Ohio State Racing Commission and Renee Mancino from the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association also attended.

Starter Mike Woebkenberg led the meeting which included topics such as post parades, head numbers, accident protocol, breathalyzer usage and Lasix. There was a lot of spirited discussion among these and other topics and all who were there expressed appreciation to be able to talk about problems that they had seen during the past year.

Woebkenberg has spearheaded these meetings for the past few years and wants to continue to facilitate the open dialogue between all the officials and horsemen.

Watch for information on a meeting in the fall of 2022. Anyone interested in attending is welcome.
