USTA at Harrisburg Sale

Columbus, OH — The USTA will have its member services table at the Standardbred Horse Sale, held at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, Monday through Friday (Nov. 4-8).

Member services representatives will be available, in the vendor area outside the sales office in the Main Hall, to process ownership transfers, memberships and Hoof Beats subscriptions, take foal registrations, look up Pathway reports, and conduct any other USTA business.

If you buy a horse at the Harrisburg Sale that you would like microchipped before your horse(s) ship out, stop by the USTA table to sign-up. Save money when you have your horse chipped at the sale. Special pricing of $30 per horse is available. Acceptable means of payment include cash, check and credit card (MasterCard, Visa, American Express).

USTA Member Services representatives will be available at the sale starting Monday (Nov. 4) at 9:30 a.m. All sign-ups must be received by noon on Friday (Nov. 8) to ensure they are completed before the sale concludes. Horses bought Friday afternoon after the sign-up deadline will be done based on availability of the USTA ID Technician onsite.

An exciting feature of the biothermal microchip from Merck/HomeAgain is that when scanned, your horse’s temperature will be displayed on the reader, along with the microchip number. There are two types of scanners available for sale through the USTA — the basic reader at $69 and the Bluetooth reader at $279.

The USTA has created the USTA Chip ID smart phone app that connects with the Bluetooth reader and translates your horse’s microchip number to their name and registration number (similar to the free Horse ID search on the USTA website). The app can be downloaded for free in Google Play or the App Store.
