Vernon welcomes NYSS sophomore pacing fillies Friday

Vernon, NY — Vernon Downs plays host to two divisions of the New York Sire Stakes for 3-year-old pacing fillies on Friday (June 21).

Peace Talks (Jason Bartlett) is the one to beat in the $57,000 first division. The filly by American Ideal is trained by Chris Ryder. She is two for three this season including NYSS wins at Tioga Downs and Buffalo. She has four career wins and has won over $320,000 in her career.

The Ron Burke trained Camerican (Jim Marohn Jr.) is her top rival. The filly by American Ideal has a win and a third in three starts this season. She has won nearly $300,000 in her career.

Ryder trains the 6-5 morning line favorite Tarrific (Bartlett) in the $57,000 second division. The filly by Huntsville is coming off an impressive NYSS win at Tioga Downs.

Leanne’s Choice (Marcus Miller) is the 3-1 second morning line favorite in the second division. Erv Miller trains the filly by Courtly Choice. She has three seconds in her four starts as a sophomore after going three-for-five as a 2-year-old.

The 15-race card starts at 4 p.m.
