Columbus, OH — Vincent “Chancy” Tancredi, 79, died Sept. 13, 2024, in Albany, N.Y., after a short illness.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol, only three months prior.
They were very proud of their sons, Joseph, Charles and Michael; and grandchildren, Abigail, Liliana and Joseph Vincent.
Mr. Tancredi was a resident of Herkimer, N.Y., for many years and most recently Boca Raton, Fla. He was a trainer and owner of Standardbreds for over 35 years and a USTA member from 1977 through 2016. An avid fan of harness racing since the mid 1960s, he could be seen any given night at tracks from Vernon Downs to Pompano Park.
He will be dearly missed by family and friends; and especially his lifelong friend, Jimmy Bernstein.
