Wayne County (PA) Fair to host free for all pace and trot

Honesdale, PA — Horsemen are reminded that along with being a regular stop on the Pennsylvania Fair Circuit offering the standard PA Fair Sire Stakes events for 2- and 3-year-olds, the historic Honesdale oval will also host free for all pace and free for all trot overnight events.

The Wayne County Fair, along with the Crawford County Fair in Meadville, are the only Pennsylvania fairs to still offer overnight racing.

At Honesdale, each free for all event will offer a total purse of $2,000 added. The free for all trot will take place on the Tuesday (Aug. 6) card, post time 2 p.m., and the first racing day will also include 2-year-old PA Sire Stakes. The free for all pace will take place as part of the Wednesday (Aug. 7) card that includes 3-year-old PA Sire Stakes action, post time 4 p.m.

The entry box closes Sunday (Aug. 4) at 10 a.m. for both days of racing. USTA online entries are accepted. All Pennsylvania County Fair racing rules are enforced.

The Wayne County Fair offers the most up to date facilities on the Pennsylvania Fair Circuit with more than 75 modern stalls, and a racing surface prepared with a Larcom & Mitchell track conditioner, all part of a classic county fair setting. The fair is located in Honesdale, Pa., conveniently positioned within two hours of many eastern racetracks and training centers.
