Middletown, DE – Red, white, and blue flags, blazing temps, fireworks, and heavy traffic everywhere best describes the scene for all of the 18 events which were contested starting with 3-year-old trotters in Zweig events at Vernon Downs on Thursday.
Friday at The Meadowlands there were Kindergarten races for babies making their first pari-mutuel start followed Saturday night by two Graduate finals for 4-year-old trotters and pacers. Saturday and Sunday were the traditional Landmark events at Goshen Historic Track culminating with the annual Hall of Fame ceremonies Sunday evening at the Harness Racing Museum.
The standings saw Ron Burke surge ahead in the Trainer column while Jason Bartlett keeps a comfortable lead in the Driver division. The appropriately named Stable of Determination took over the owner category. Sponsored by Winbak Farm, the leaders can be viewed by clicking on the links below.
