Nichols, NY — Whiskey Lou and driver Ridge Warren had an easy time of it in the $17,000 feature Open trot in 1:53.4 on a picture perfect Corn-Tastic Sunday afternoon at Tioga Downs.
Being sent away as the 1-4 post time favorite helped to make Ridge’s job as easy as point and click. He pointed Whiskey Lou away from the gate then clicked off smooth fractions through a effortless jaunt like it was Happy Hour at the tiki bar.
The ultra consistent Purple Lord hooked onto the leader’s bumper and looked like a sure thing to be second until Chuckthemillionair snapped him right at the light for place.
Trained by Ridge’s dad Todd Warren for Randy Wilt, the four-year-old Lou’s Legacy mare was winning for the 21st time in only 34 career starts as she climbs toward the $300,000 mark in earnings.
